Job summary

Knowesis, a trusted government contractor, is seeking a Project Coordinator to support USAF School of Aerospace Medicine, Public Health Technology Directorate at Wright-Patterson AFB. The role focuses on project administration, data collection, and collaboration with PIs and researchers to advance air force health programs.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, able to obtain Tier 1 background clearance, and be prepared for an onsite assignment in Ohio with no travel planned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a scientific, analytical, or research setting.
  • Ability to organize, manage, and perform projects related to ongoing programmatic efforts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, as contractor employees requiring access to USAF bases and U.S. Government IT networks must be U.S. citizens.
  • Must be able to obtain a minimum Tier 1 background check (T1)/SF85 for access to restricted areas.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in managing programs and projects, drafting project documents, coordinating approvals, monitoring spending plans, and supporting reviews.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of project and study data.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators and project leads.
  • Perform administrative tasks: obtain and maintain IRB/HRPO/IACUC/IBC/MOU data sharing agreements, and provide audit trails for protocol compliance.
  • Identify problems, monitor progress, report adverse events, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in amendments to protocols or study design modifications.
  • Schedule meetings, coordinate with subject matter experts, conduct literature reviews, and manage STINFO clearances.
  • Assist in drafting, preparing, and/or editing scholarly publications and presentations.
  • Create and maintain project documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases.
  • Attend meetings with government, academia, clinicians, and other experts.
  • Abide by confidentiality per HIPAA and related regulations.
  • No travel is anticipated for this position.

Knowesis is currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team and provide invaluable support to the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, Public Health Technology Directorate (USAFSAM/PHT), 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW). This team delivers human performance research and consolidates human performance studies, education, and consultation for the Air Force.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position's security requirements.

The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
  • Aid in managing programs and projects, including drafting project documents, coordinating institutional approvals, monitoring spending plans, and supporting technical programmatic reviews.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of project and study data.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs) and project leads.
  • Perform administrative tasks: obtain and maintain applicable Institutional Review Board (IRB), Human Research Protections Official (HRPO), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)/data sharing agreements, and provide auditing trails to assure protocol compliance.
  • Identify problems or inconsistencies, monitor project progress, document and report adverse events, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in preparing amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study designs as appropriate.
  • Schedule meetings, coordinate with subject matter experts, conduct literature reviews, and manage document clearances per Scientific and Technical Information (STINFO) regulations.
  • Assist in drafting, preparing, and/or editing scholarly publications, including abstracts, posters, technical reports, manuscripts, and slide presentations.
  • Create and maintain project documents, management spreadsheets, presentations, and project-related databases.
  • Attend meetings as required with government and civilian organizations, program managers, academia, clinicians, and other subject matter experts.
  • Abide by all Federal, State, and USAFSAM directives concerning the confidentiality of patient records, as embodied in federal statutes including the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • No travel is anticipated for this position.

  • Must be able to obtain a minimum Tier 1 background check (T1)/SF85 for access to the internet, automated information systems, and unescorted entry into restricted or controlled areas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptionally high capacity for working autonomously and performing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated competency and effectiveness in working with inter-professional teams.
  • Experience and familiarity with logistics and equipment management within a technical or medical environment.
