Job summary

The Columbus Partnership, a nonprofit of Columbus' leading business CEOs, seeks a Project Coordinator to advance business attraction and expansion across the 11-county Columbus Region. You will coordinate with regional partners, maintain project records, and support client engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

This role involves administrative support, site visits, real estate data management, and preparing market proposals to drive regional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in planning, economic development, real estate, business or a related field.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in economic development, project coordination, client services, real estate or related field preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to build relationships and manage multiple priorities.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail; able to work in fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the deal closing project management and client services team.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and executing client visits to the Columbus Region.
  • Support the distribution, tracking and management of incoming project real estate requests.
  • Assist with site selection responses and support site readiness initiatives with internal staff and regional partners.
  • Maintain the regional real estate database in collaboration with local economic development partners.
  • Maintain Salesforce records with data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop market proposals and supporting materials for domestic and international opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for economic development inquiries via email, website forms and phone.

The Role

In this role, the focus is on supporting the successful execution of business attraction and expansion projects across the Columbus Region. The project coordinator serves as a key member of the deal closing project management and client services team by coordinating project activities, maintaining accurate project records, supporting client engagement and ensuring seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle.

The position supports high-impact economic development initiatives by providing project coordination and administrative support that keep opportunities moving forward. Responsibilities include coordinating with regional partners, maintaining project documentation, tracking project activities, responding to client requests and delivering a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders.

Reports to: Vice President, Corporate Investment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the deal closing project management and client services team.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and executing client visits to the Columbus Region.
  • Support the distribution, tracking and management of incoming project real estate requests.
  • Assist with the preparation of site selection responses and support site readiness initiatives in collaboration with internal staff and regional partners.
  • Support the maintenance and ongoing enhancement of the regional real estate database in collaboration with local economic development partners.
  • Maintain and organize Salesforce records, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and completeness in accordance with internal standards and partner guidelines.
  • Develop compelling market proposals and supporting materials for domestic and international business attraction opportunities.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for general economic development inquiries received via email, website contact forms and phone, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of One Columbus and its state and regional partners.
Skills and Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in planning, economic development, real estate, business or a related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in economic development, project coordination, client services, real estate or a related field is preferred.

  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms is preferred.
  • Some travel around the Columbus Region will be required.
  • The Columbus Partnership is an in-person work environment based in Downtown Columbus.
  • Work hours are generally 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. or 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Must be available to work occasional off-hours; events and meetings will involve some early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday as deadlines demand.
