Job summary

University of the District of Columbia seeks a Project Coordinator to report to the Director of Business Operations. You will prepare action plans with resources, timeframes and budgets, coordinate monthly project view meetings and manage risk and documentation.

The role involves liaising with clients, coordinating tasks, and ensuring project progress while supporting budget preparation and QA activities across IT projects.

Qualifications

  • Three years of project coordination experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information.
  • Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes.
  • Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives.
  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management.
  • Ensure clients’ needs are met as projects evolve.
  • Help prepare budgets.
  • Analyze risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee project procurement management.
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise.
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all stakeholders.
  • Work with the Project Manager, VP for Information Technology, and the OIT team to eliminate blockers.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports regularly.
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests.

Job Overview

Project Coordinator responsibilities include reporting directly to the Director of Business Operations to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets for projects. Performing various coordinating tasks such as scheduling, risk management, maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries, and coordinating monthly project view meetings.

  • PMP certification is a plus
