Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I to support field coordination, review plans, manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders with project teams in a dynamic environment. The role emphasizes professionalism, confidentiality, and proactive problem-solving.

The successful candidate will mentor field engineers, ensure safety and compliance, and help maintain schedules and quality across the project lifecycle in Utah. A Bachelor’s degree and construction experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum two years of related construction experience.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons.
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan and establish procedures.
• Obtain and maintain construction permits and manage related fees.
• Develop and maintain material tracking, test and inspection logs.
• Manage, create, and distribute contract documents and RFIs.
• Coordinate submittals, revisions, and change orders with stakeholders.
• Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers.
• Ensure safety and compliance and maintain project schedules.
