Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a driven Project Controls Specialist Student to apply a basic understanding of Earned Value Management and scheduling principles in a real-world setting. Under supervision, you will aid the project delivery team by developing baselines and tracking cost/schedule progress.

You will assist with financial controls, forecasting, and routine reporting, interfacing with project members and management while following safety programs and federal/regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled and taking courses towards a Masters degree.
• Basic understanding of Earned Value Management and Project Scheduling principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop basic cost and schedule baselines.
• Collect and analyze monthly cost and schedule progress.
• Analyze variances for projects of basic complexity and update risk reserves.
• Support implementation of financial controls and forecasting techniques.
• Interface with project team and management.
• Prepare routine financial reports and cost status updates.
