Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a driven Project Controls Specialist Student with a basic understanding of Earned Value Management and Project Scheduling principles for an immersive, real-world experience. The role supports the project delivery team by developing cost and schedule baselines and analyzing progress under direct supervision.

You will assist in financial controls, forecasting, and reporting, interfacing with project teams and management while following safety programs and internal procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled and taking courses towards a Masters degree.

Responsibilities

• Develops basic cost and schedule baselines under supervision.
• Collects and analyzes monthly cost and schedule progress; identifies variances for basic projects.
• Supports implementation of financial controls, procedures, systems and forecasting techniques.
• Interfaces with project team and management levels.
• Follows all safety programs and internal procedures.
• Gathers progress data to update schedules and costs for basic projects.
• Updates schedule dates, percent complete, resource needs, and subcontractor commitments.
• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates costs.
• Monitors progress of project deliverables and performs EV management reporting.
• Performs routine analyses and may prepare routine financial reports.
