Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a driven Project Controls Specialist Student with a basic understanding of Earned Value Management and Project Scheduling principles for an immersive, real-world experience. Under direct supervision, you will support the project delivery team by developing basic cost and schedule baselines, collecting and analyzing monthly progress, and reporting variances to leads.

You will assist in implementing financial controls, interfacing with the project team, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled and taking courses towards a Masters degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports the project delivery team by developing basic cost and schedule baselines.
• Collects and analyzes monthly cost and schedule progress; identifies variances for basic projects.
• Ensures risk reserves are updated and integrated into project forecasts; reports to leads.
• Supports the implementation of financial controls, procedures, systems and forecasting techniques.
• Interfaces with project team and management at various levels; follows safety programs.
• Gathers progress information to update project schedule and milestones.
• Develops time-phased cost and resource forecasts; validates costs and updates requirements.
