Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a driven Project Controls Student to support the project delivery team with Earned Value Management and scheduling basics. Under supervision, you will help develop baselines, collect progress data, and analyze variances for projects of basic complexity, while ensuring schedules and costs stay aligned with forecasts.

You will interface with team members and management, follow safety programs, and contribute to forecasting techniques and reporting in standard formats.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Currently enrolled and taking courses towards a Masters degree.
• Basic understanding of Earned Value Management and Project Scheduling principles.
• Supports development of cost and schedule baselines and analyzes variances.

Responsibilities

• Develops basic cost and schedule baselines and collects progress data.
• Analyzes monthly cost and schedule progress and variances for basic projects.
• Updates and reports project financial forecasts and risk reserves.
• Supports implementation of financial controls and forecasting techniques.
• Gathers progress information from project team and updates schedule and cost baselines.
• Produces routine Earned Value reports and cost status communications.
• Performs basic financial analyses including variance and risk assessments.
