Job summary

D'Leon Consulting Engineers seeks a Project Controls Specialist to oversee schedules, budgets, and performance reporting for Las Vegas-based construction projects. The role requires strong scheduling software experience and a solid background in earned value management and cost control.

Responsibilities include maintaining schedules, performing schedule risk assessments, monitoring budgets, and delivering KPI dashboards for stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 3–10+ years of experience in project controls, project management, construction management, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting capital construction projects in transportation, aviation, public works, utilities, commercial, industrial, or vertical construction environments.
  • Experience with scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and project performance reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
  • Review contractor baseline schedules and monthly schedule updates for accuracy, logic, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and identify potential delays or recovery opportunities.
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts throughout all phases of construction.
  • Track cost performance, prepare cash flow forecasts, and support change management processes.
  • Analyze schedule and cost variances and prepare recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and executive-level project performance reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
  • Support project planning, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management activities where applicable.
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and clients regarding schedule, cost, and progress updates.
  • Maintain project controls databases, logs, and reporting systems to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in reviewing change orders, claims, RFIs, and contract modifications for schedule and cost impacts.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide project controls updates, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Maintain historical project data and lessons learned for future planning and benchmarking.
  • Ensure compliance with client standards, contractual requirements, organizational policies, and industry best practices.
  • Support project closeout activities, including final reporting, documentation, and archive of project controls records.
