Job summary

VT Group (VTG) in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Project Control Analyst to provide project financial and reporting support in a hybrid role (two days on-site, three days remote). You will analyze project status by reconciling budgets, entries, and accruals, coordinating with Accounting, Contracts and PMs, and preparing monthly division reports.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 3-5 years of gov contracting experience and proficiency in Deltek Costpoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of government contracting experience in Project Control, Finance, or Accounting.
• Experience using Deltek Costpoint.
• Exceptional Excel skills including the ability to analyze data with Pivot tables.
• Strong oral and written communication skills interfacing with staff at all levels.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support project financials and reporting for Division Leads.
• Compile data from Accounting and Contracts to analyze project status.
• Reconcile actual vs. budget costs per project; submit monthly accruals.
• Review time charging and expenses for accuracy and project alignment.
• Prepare monthly reporting for the assigned Division and review invoices prior to submission.
• Assist in monthly close processes and develop EACs and ETCs.
• Interface with PMs, Contracts, and Accounting to ensure data validity and timely reporting.
• Understand budgets per project and assist PMs to stay current on financial data.

Overview

VTG is seeking a Project Control Analyst located in Virginia Beach, VA to work in a hybrid capacity, two days in Virginia Beach and three days remote each week. Provides project financial and reporting support to Division Leads. Compiles data from Accounting and Contracts to analyze project status. Acts as a liaison between Operations and primarily the Accounting, Finance and Contracts functions.

What will you do?

• Works with PMs and Contracts on Limitation of Cost (LOCs) & Task Order Closeout Request (TOCR)
• Review project set-up for all new contracts (WBS, POP, etc.) to ensure accuracy
• Work closely with Accounting and Contracts to ensure validity of data, address billing and deliverable requirements, etc.
• Understand the budget for each project and assist PMs with staying current on financial data relative to project
• Review time charging for all assigned projects
• Review expenses for each project for accuracy and correct project alignment
• Reconcile actual vs. budget costs per project
• Submit monthly accruals for all assigned projects
• Review and understand the monthly revenue, gross profit and identify any variances
• Understand unbilled data, accounts receivable and accounts payable relative to projects and assist in managing DSO/DPO
• Prepare monthly reporting for the assigned Division
• Review and work with PMs on approving all invoices prior to customer submission
• Work as a part of the Accounting team on the monthly close process
• Review and prepare monthly EACs and ETCs
• Understand working at risk thresholds on each project and get appropriate approvals as needed
• Understand reporting needs of each Division and department interfacing with assigned projects
• Calculate incentive awards / commissions applicable to assigned Division
• Support the Division Lead for any ad hoc reporting, budgeting, and forecasting

Monthly reporting will include but may not be limited to:

• Revenue and gross profit with variance analysis
• Labor utilization with variance analysis
• Work at Risk summary
• Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable commentary relative to assigned projects
• Unbilled commentary relative to assigned projects
• Backlog reporting in concert with Contracts data

Do you have what it takes?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in government contracting performing in a Project Control, Finance / Accounting, or related role
• Experience using Deltek Costpoint
• Exceptional Excel skills including the ability to analyze data with Pivot tables
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface with staff members at all levels within the organization
• Must be a US Citizen.

Pay Range:

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $65,000 - $75,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
