Job summary

Valero is offering an internship in refinery construction, commissioning and startup projects. You will support turnaround and capital project groups, focusing on product quality, production, schedule and cost, while upholding safety, environmental and economic objectives.

Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Science/Management/Engineering, with a 3.2+ GPA, and graduation between August 2027 and May 2029.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Construction Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist Refinery Turnaround and Capital Project groups with construction, commissioning and startup of refinery projects.
• Support project objectives related to product quality, production, schedule and cost while upholding safety and environmental goals.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
• Contribute to pre- and post-startup activities as needed.

Major Accountabilities

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, required.
• Overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale, preferred.
• Graduation dates of August 2027 through May 2029, required.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, required.
• Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
