Job summary

Valero is seeking an intern to support refinery turnaround and capital project groups in construction, commissioning and startup activities at multiple locations. The role emphasizes safety, environmental compliance, and meeting production and cost objectives.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a construction-related bachelor’s degree with a 3.2+ GPA and graduation planned between August 2027 and May 2029, able to commit to 40 hours per week and work on site.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• GPA 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale preferred.
• Graduation dates Aug 2027 through May 2029 required.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week.
• On-site and in-person work required.

Major Accountabilities

Assists Refinery Turnaround and Capital Project groups with construction, commissioning and startup of refinery projects relative to product quality, production, schedule and cost while meeting the company's safety, environmental, and economic objectives.

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, required.
• Overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale, preferred.
• Graduation dates of August 2027 through May 2029, required.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, required.
• Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
