This position is located in Louisville, KY.

The Project Buyer is a member of the Operations organization of Aegis and is accountable to the Manufacturing and Procurement team. Primary responsibilities relate to all aspects of purchasing materials, supplies or equipment, as well as performing market research, negotiating deals, proactively submitting requests for proposals, and demonstrating leadership in Aegis’ mission, vision, and core values.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work within the ERP system to accurately monitor purchase orders, inventory levels, and supplier agreements.
• Collaborate with internal departments to determine materials requirements, develop sourcing strategies, and provide relevant updates.
• Align procurement activities with project timelines, budgets, and milestones.
• Negotiate and secure contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and terms.
• Ensure all materials meet project delivery schedules and budgets, with required cost and quality.
• Assess current market conditions for effects on supply and demand of materials.
• Analyze quotes and make strategic recommendations for supply partners.
• Follow up with suppliers to expedite delivery of materials and information.
• Check and approve invoices for orders placed.
• Manage supplier inventories, supply chains, deliveries, and issues.
• Visit suppliers to build relationships and identify future opportunities.
• Support cross-functional project teams by providing procurement expertise and ensuring timely material availability.

Required Qualifications:

• 3 or more years of experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of purchasing experience, including experience as a Project Buyer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, comprehension skills, project management, and negotiating skills.
• Brings strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and analytical skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP system.
• Has thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
• Has working knowledge of material work planning and manufacturing, engineering methods, and inventory control.
• Has proven ability to manage supply chains, identifying areas of risk and developing appropriate solutions.
• Experience supporting cross-functional project teams and managing procurement for complex, multi-phase projects.
