Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Technical Buyer. As a Senior Technical Buyer, you will play a critical role in the procurement process, and you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services to support our organization's operations. Your expertise in negotiating contracts, analyzing market trends, and building strong relationships with suppliers will be instrumental in ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products at the best possible prices.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for obtaining quotes, preparing price analysis and recommendations, negotiate price/delivery/payment terms and supplier contracts where applicable - actively participate in driving improvement projects aligned towards corporate initiatives.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers aligned with organizational goals.
  • Maintain data integrity of lead time, delivery, and cost.
  • Maintain inventory levels (value and turns), reviewing demand patterns and making appropriate adjustments and recommendations for stocking levels.
  • Source and develop new suppliers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers in expediting process to ensure critical delivery requirements.
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement. Identify and drive cost saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with QA to monitor and maintain ASL, supplier score cards, on time status, and vendor audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department and company objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • A relevant certification (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM, Associate degree) or 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in preparing and issuing RFQs and Purchase Orders
  • Experience using procurement software and tools (ERP / MRP / QMS)
  • Background supporting collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues, support product development, and ensure procurement aligns with design intent and manufacturing requirements.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. A relevant certification (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM) is a plus.
  • Experience in BOM management and edits
  • Prior experience with in issuing and processing RMA's
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data.
  • Proven experience working as a Sr Technical Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards (AS9100 / ISO9100)

Travel Requirements

30% or less travel is expected for this position. Infrequent travel to suppliers, customers, or other locations is expected.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
