Job summary

UMIAQ Design is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support operations by handling most billing functions and project accounting tasks. You will participate in project setup, cost reviews, monthly invoicing, and AR collections while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

The role requires three years of accounting experience with a background in project accounting and proficiency in Sage 300 and MS Office. A BA/BS in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of three (3) years accounting experience plus previous project accounting experience required.
• Sage 300 experience.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Outlook and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily administration and support of new and ongoing projects including project setup, organization and coordination of project documentation.
• Perform detailed review over project costs on a weekly basis.
• Prepare and review project invoicing with Project Managers and Assistant Controller on a monthly basis.
• Assist in the review of Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Subcontracts as needed.
• Assist with credit card purchases and review of monthly reconciliations.
• Support accounting group with annual audit prep and other duties as needed.
• Monitor aging reports and ensure timely collections.
• Follow up on outstanding receivables with Project Managers and customers.
• Ensure billing and AR processes comply with GAAP and company internal controls.
