Job summary

Summit Public Schools in the Bay Area seeks an English teacher for SY26-27 to mentor a consistent group of students and lead project-based learning within Summit's distinct advisory model.

You will teach multi-period blocks, support student growth through deep learning projects, and collaborate with a network of mission-driven colleagues across schools. The role emphasizes DEIB and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Teaching credential required in California or another US state
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) in daily practice

Responsibilities

• See sample teacher schedules and manage daily advisory group contacts.
• Teach project-based lessons with 90-minute blocks in high school or four 55-minute blocks in middle school.
• Lead Mentor Time with mentees and support personal goal setting.
• Facilitate Self-Directed Learning time and literacy/mathematics interventions.
• Collaborate with faculty in twice-weekly all-faculty meetings for PD and school culture.
