Job summary

A&E + SMA Design is seeking a Project Architect in Billings to lead design efforts, liaise with clients, and drive project success from concept through construction.

Ideal candidates bring a licensed architecture background with 5+ years of design experience, strong communication, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Newforma. Travel up to 25% is expected as part of project duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture is required; Master’s preferred.
• Architectural license is required.
• Minimum 5 years of design experience; 8–10 years preferred.
• Strong ability to communicate complex design ideas to varied audiences.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and Newforma.
• Ability to lead projects within budget and schedule constraints.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary consultant liaison to keep projects on schedule and budget.
• Provide overall design and development processes ensuring documents conform to client agreement.
• Lead technical document production across project sizes.
• Ensure quality control on all deliverables.
• Schedule and attend client meetings and document milestones.
• Represent the firm in client communications throughout the project lifecycle.
