Job summary

A&E + SMA Design in Billings, MT, is seeking a Project Architect with creative leadership to guide commercial design from concept through construction. You will oversee project development, ensure design intent, and coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver on time and within budget.

You should have a architecture degree, licensure preferred, 5+ years design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and Newforma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture; master’s preferred.
• Architectural licensure preferred.
• 5+ years design experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and Newforma.
• Experience guiding projects within budget and schedule.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary consultant liaison and secondary client liaison to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction.
• Provide overall project design and development process to ensure construction documents conform with the firm’s agreement with the client.
• Provide technical expertise to generate documents for projects ranging in size and scope.
• Ensure quality control on all deliverables.
• May estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts for principal review.
• Understands contractual obligations between designer, consultants, owner and contractors.
• Represent A&E + SMA Design in all client communications at regular intervals between all stages of the agreement and post-agreement activities.
• Execute client agreements with defined scope and schedule, educating clients about defined terms.
• Schedule, attend, and record all meetings with clients, project team members, and stakeholder groups.
• Maintain constant updates related to project completion, including schedule and billing milestones.
• Strive to innovate, learn, and improve, never settling for the status quo.
