Job summary

A&E + SMA Design is seeking a Project Architect to lead design efforts in the Billings market. You will oversee project logistics from concept to construction, collaborating with top design staff to deliver quality outcomes for commercial projects.

The role requires a degree in architecture, a professional license, and 5+ years of design experience, with strong AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Newforma skills. Travel up to 25% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, master's degree preferred.
• Architectural license is required.
• Minimum 5 years of design experience; 8–10 years preferred.
• Strong design communication across audiences with varying expertise.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and Newforma.
• Experience guiding projects within budget and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary consultant liaison and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee design development and ensure documentation aligns with client agreements.
• Provide technical expertise to generate documents for varied project sizes.
• Maintain quality control on all deliverables.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and scope of work for principal review.
• Represent the firm in client communications across stages of the project.
