Job summary

UPMC Health System is seeking a Project Analyst to analyze complex data to support provider and organizational initiatives, manage multiple projects concurrently, and apply knowledge of internal processes to develop project plans.

You will produce executive reports, create workflows, maintain project documentation, and drive cross-functional implementation and change management strategies within a large health care environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with two years of experience, or a high school diploma with five years of experience.
• Strong spreadsheet and database software knowledge.
• Highly organized with strict deadline adherence.
• Project management knowledge and ability to manage multiple complex projects.
• Minimum four years of operations experience.
• Healthcare insurance/industry experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills: Access, Excel, MS Project, and related software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan for large initiatives and manage tasks within budget and deadlines.
• Experience with Excel advanced functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) preferred.
• Experience with benefits systems and systems implementation preferred.
• Experience with large, complex organizations preferred.

The Project Analyst position is responsible for analyzing complex data to support provider and organizational initiatives, managing multiple projects at any given time, and understanding of UPMC Health System internal processes and systems to develop and implement project plans.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complex data and project analysis.
• Prepare executive-ready reports, workflows, and presentations.
• Develop and maintain project plans, documentation, and tracking tools.
• Create cross-functional implementation and change management strategies.
• Process reporting requests for managers and directors.
• Assist management with documenting department roles and responsibilities.
• Recommend and implement process improvement initiatives.
• Provide concise and timely project status updates.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or High School degree and five years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet and database software.
• Must be very organized and deadline conscious.
• Project Management knowledge and ability to manage multiple, complex, large-scale projects.
• Minimum of four years of experience in operations.
• Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred.
• Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent computer software packages.
• Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written).
• This position requires effective planning and organizational skills.
• This person must have the ability to perform planning for large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to providing services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
• Previous Excel skills (including pivot table, vLookUp, reporting, and reconciliation) experience is preferred.
• Previous benefits systems knowledge and general benefits experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with System Implementation is preferred.
• Previous experience with large complex organizations is preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Act 31 / Act 33 / Act 34 / Act 73 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
