Job summary

CPL in Westlake, OH seeks a Project Accountant to manage the full project accounting lifecycle, from setup through closeout, including budgeting, billing, revenue recognition, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure contractual compliance.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, Operations and Finance leadership to monitor performance, identify profitability opportunities, and maintain financial integrity in a fast-paced environment. ERP and advanced Excel experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• At least 3 years of project accounting experience.
• Experience managing projects through full life cycle.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, billing and revenue recognition knowledge.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects in the accounting system with accurate data.
• Review contracts for compliance with policies and customer terms.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts and cost projections.
• Monitor performance, costs, revenue and profitability.
• Prepare and process customer billings per contract terms.
• Manage revenue recognition and accounting standards compliance.
• Track accounts receivable and support collections.
• Prepare monthly project financial reports, variance analyses and forecasts.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to identify risks and opportunities.
• Process project modifications, change orders and amendments.
• Perform project closeout activities including final billing and reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits as needed.
