Job summary

Egis is seeking a Project Accounting Manager to join our U.S. finance team in Indianapolis. You will own critical project accounting processes, improve budgeting and forecasting, and guide the transition to Oracle and percentage-of-completion accounting.

You'll work with controllers, project managers, and department leaders to improve financial visibility, manage WIP, revenue recognition, and reporting, and mentor AP/AR teams while influencing accounting practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including audits.
• Hands-on project accounting experience with WIP, revenue recognition, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Ability to influence project managers and cross-functional teams.
• Advanced Excel skills; ability to develop financial reports and supporting workpapers.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive mindset and interest in improving processes and adopting new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own project accounting processes, including setup, controls, WIP, revenue recognition, and reporting.
• Collaborate with project managers and leaders to review performance, identify variances, and improve profitability visibility.
• Strengthen budgeting, forecasting, cost-to-complete projections, and financial decision support.
• Coach managers on financial best practices to improve consistency and accountability across projects.
• Support month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and client communications.
