Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Accountant to ensure accurate and timely client invoicing, set up new projects in accounting software, and assist project managers with financial oversight. The role emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and adherence to contract terms.

The ideal candidate will have 0–2+ years in project billing, proficiency in Excel, and experience with BST or similar software, supporting a dynamic team across various project types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance.
• Associate’s Degree + relevant experience.
• 0-2+ years experience in project billing preferred.
• Experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
• Prior experience with BST or similar accounting software.
• Excellent time management and ability to work under deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Very strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read, write and understand English in job communications.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects and tasks in the accounting software.
• Verify project setup complies with contract in BST.
• Prepare draft invoices and coordinate changes with Project Managers.
• Handle various contract billing formats (time & material, cost plus, lump sum, fixed unit).
• Monitor expenses vs labor charges on projects.
• Finalize and submit client invoices with backup.
• Provide reports for Project Managers as needed.
• Support collections and revise invoices for payment as required.
• Digitally file invoices and backup.
• Perform other accounting tasks as needed.
