Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Accountant to join our dynamic team. You will work closely with project managers to ensure accurate and timely client invoicing and to set up new projects in our accounting system.

You will prepare invoices, review contract terms, and provide reports to help manage the financial health of projects. This role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance.
• 0-2+ years experience in project billing.
• Experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
• Prior experience with BST or similar accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Setup new projects and tasks in accounting software.
• Verify the setup of projects in BST are in compliance with contract.
• Prepare draft invoices for Project Managers and collaborate to make changes.
• Contract billing may include time & material, cost plus fixed fee, lump sum, and fixed unit terms.
• Monitor/Match expenses charged to projects with labor charges.
• Finalize and submit invoices to clients with backup.
• Provide requested reports for Project Managers to help manage financial health.
• Assist collections and revise invoices as needed for payment.
• Digital filing of invoices and backup.
• Perform other accounting tasks as needed.
