Job summary

Randstad USA in Spring, TX is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to partner with the Business Unit Financial Controller, GM, and Project Managers to drive project profitability. You will oversee EACs, revenue recognition under IFRS 15, and project costing against budgets and forecasts.

The role requires 5+ years in cost/project accounting within a manufacturing environment, strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge, and advanced Excel. Excellent cross-functional communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, project accounting, FP&A, or financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing accounting environments (standard costing, inventory, labor & overhead burden rates, and project accounting).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly Estimates at Completion (EAC) workbooks; review findings with Project Managers and present insights to executive management.
• Execute monthly revenue recognition calculations and prepare journal entries in strict compliance with IFRS 15 (over-time revenue recognition / percentage-of-completion).
• Review project and facility costs against budgets to ensure proper allocation and variance tracking.
• Build and maintain weekly project forecasts covering project costs, invoicing schedules, and revenue calculations.
• Monitor project billing milestones to ensure accurate, timely invoicing and collection.
• Assist with change order costing, contract reviews, and bid/proposal support.
• Prepare revenue recognition memos and provide auditors with contract, EAC, and cost data as required.
• Serve as a financial partner across departments, supporting continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing initiatives, and company strategic goals.
