Job summary

Hunting is seeking a Project Accountant to deliver monthly estimates at completion and revenue recognition for complex projects. You will collaborate with the Business Unit Financial Controller, General Manager, and Project Managers to ensure accurate costing and timely financial reporting.

The role requires 5+ years in cost or project accounting, strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge, and hands-on experience with ERP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

BS degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
Minimum of 5 years in cost accounting or project accounting.
Knowledge of GAAP Accounting Standards and IFRS.
Experience with ERP systems, Excel and accounting consolidation software.
Experience with D365 a plus.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and contracts.
Experience with IFRS 15, revenue recognition, and percent complete accounting.
Manufacturing accounting experience including inventory, standard costing, labor and overhead rates.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly estimates at completion (EAC) and reconcile data with project managers.
Perform monthly revenue recognition calculations and post journal entries per IFRS/GAAP.
Review project and facility costs vs budget to ensure proper cost allocation.
Forecast weekly project costs, invoicing, and revenue calculations.
Monitor billing milestones to ensure timely invoicing and collection.
Assist with change order costing and bids/proposals as needed.
Review new contracts to prepare IFRS revenue recognition memos.
Support auditors with contract, EAC and revenue data as required.
