Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a Project Accountant to support project teams and the Finance department. The role covers project accounting, billing, AR/AP, reconciliations, and general accounting tasks, with a strong emphasis on process improvements.

Responsibilities include setting up projects, monitoring budgets, billing, revenue recognition, month-end close, and internal controls. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of project accounting experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with project-based accounting, billing, and financial management.
• Experience with Deltek or a similar project accounting/ERP system strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Process vendor and consultant invoices.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

• Maintain appropriate internal controls and financial documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
• Partner with project managers and internal teams on financial matters.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

KBW has teamed up with a clientseeking a Project Accountant to support project teams and the Finance department. This role will be responsible for project accounting, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and general accounting activities.

Responsibilities

Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000
