Job summary

BKF invites applications for a Project Accountant to support month-end close, invoicing, project cost reviews, and financial reporting from our Oakland office. The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration with project managers, and strong Excel skills.

The successful candidate will work in a hybrid setup with one day in the Oakland office weekly, and additional responsibilities across architectural and engineering project domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Architecture or Engineering industry preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills and strong mathematical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare invoices for clients and review draft invoices for labor and expense charges; ensure accuracy of billing rates and ceilings.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill invoice support documentation requests.
• Prepare project financial reports (e.g., WIP aging, AR aging, budget vs actual).
• Support project setup and maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and resolve project billing issues.
• This position reports to the Oakland office one day per week with hybrid-remote remaining days.
• Perform other assignments as required.

Responsibilities may include:

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations

• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual)
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill client requests for invoice support documentation
• Prepare project financial reports (i.e. WIP aging, AR aging, project budget vs actual)
• Support project managers in project setup and project maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint

• This position will report to our Oakland office one day per week and the opportunity for hybrid-remote the remainder of the week.

• The typical base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $36.00 -$48.00 - an hour and will vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
