Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of project accounting experience.
  • Experience with lump sum billing and cost-plus/GMP billing in a construction or project-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of job costing, project financial reporting, and contract billing.
  • Experience managing vendor compliance documentation, including certificates of insurance, lien waivers, bonds, and retention.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of project job costing, including tracking, recording, and analyzing project costs
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly customer billings in accordance with contract requirements
  • Perform financial analysis by comparing actual project costs against budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle
  • Process and maintain vendor compliance documentation, including certificates of insurance, lien waivers, bonds, W-9s, and retention documentation
  • Partner with Project Managers to provide financial reporting and project status updates
  • Produce and analyze job cost reports to evaluate project performance and profitability
  • Maintain accurate project financial information within the company's project accounting system
  • Identify, research, and resolve project-related accounting issues in a timely manner
  • Support month-end reporting and other ad hoc financial analyses as needed
