Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Our client

A well‑established construction firm known for its collaborative culture and high‑quality project delivery. We are hiring a Project Accountant to support project financial management, ensure accurate cost tracking, and strengthen reporting processes across multiple active jobs. This position plays a key role in partnering with project management and operations to maintain financial accuracy and support company growth.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage and analyze job cost reports, prepare cost‑to‑complete forecasts, and ensure project budgets align with company financial goals.
  • Prepare and review AIA billings, monitor retainage, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing in compliance with contract terms.
  • Review, track, and reconcile change orders, ensuring all budget impacts are captured and reflected in project financials.
  • Lead month‑end project reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and assist with WIP schedules and variance analysis.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Operations to monitor job progress, resolve discrepancies, and improve cost‑control accuracy.
  • Maintain organized documentation to support audits, lien waivers, and contract compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and workflow automation.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • 4–6 years of construction accounting experience, including project‑based cost tracking
  • Experience with AIA Billing, Job Costing, and Lien Releases required
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Success Factors

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
  • Preferred experience with Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300 CRE, or similar ERP systems
