Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a Project Accountant to support project teams and the Finance department in Concord, MA. You will handle project accounting, billing, AR/AP, reconciliations, and general accounting activities.

The role emphasizes setting up projects, monitoring budgets, preparing client billing, and assisting with month-end close, with a focus on process improvement and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with project-based accounting, billing, and financial management.
• Deltek or similar project accounting/ERP preferred.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up projects, monitor budgets, and track project costs.
• Prepare monthly client billing and support revenue recognition.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Process vendor and consultant invoices.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close.
• Maintain internal controls and financial documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
• Partner with project managers and internal teams on financial matters.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up projects, monitor budgets, and track project costs
• Prepare monthly client billing and support revenue recognition
