Job summary

Forge Constructors, a growing commercial general contractor, seeks a Project Accountant to support both project and corporate accounting, ensuring timely reporting, accurate job costing, and precise billing.

You will partner with project managers and the accounting team, manage AP/AR, assist with month-end close, and help maintain controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Associate’s degree and/or equivalent experience also considered).
• 2–5 years of project accounting experience in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in Sage 300 CRE strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Procore strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process owner billings, subcontractor pay applications, change orders, and lien waivers.
• Maintain accurate job cost records and monitor budget vs. actual reports for assigned projects.
• Support project teams in tracking committed costs, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
• Manage AP/AR functions related to construction projects, including invoice coding and payment processing.
• Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and Controller on corporate-level accounting needs.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Provide timely and professional communication with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.

Position Overview
