Phoenix Stamping Group, LLC is seeking an experienced set‑up operator for cold heading machines in Atlanta, GA. You will set up multi-die equipment, interpret tool/drawings, and drive output across several assets while maintaining quality and safety.

You will review travelers, manage tooling and records, perform routine maintenance, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement in a highly automated environment.

Formación

• 10 years verifiable experience setting up and operating multi-die progressive headers.
• Capability to design/modify tooling for target product outcomes.
• Blueprint reading; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and operate cold heading machines across multiple assets.
• Review job travelers and drawings to determine tooling and specs.
• Diagnose and correct out-of-spec conditions via process adjustments.
• Achieve throughput goals and hit quality targets with in-process inspection.
• Maintain tooling inventory and coordinate reorders for uninterrupted production.
• Complete production documentation including downtime, scrap, and yield.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize machine uptime.
• Maintain a 6S workspace and follow safety standards.
• Adhere to environmental requirements and MSDS procedures.
• Propose continuous improvement ideas.
• Execute tooling maintenance/modifications and related duties.

Role Snapshot

• Schedule: Any shift. Monday–Thursday 10-hour shifts; Friday 8-hour overtime day as needed.
• Reports to: Production Supervisor
• Purpose: Set up and operate cold heading machines and drive output across multiple assets in a designated area.

Key Outcomes

• Review job travelers and part drawings; determine exact setup, tooling, and specs.
• Set up and operate multi-die progressive header equipment to blueprint tolerances.
• Diagnose and correct out-of-spec conditions via process adjustments.
• Achieve production throughput goals for your area.
• Hit quality targets and minimize rework using in-process inspection to all specifications.
• Manage tooling inventory and coordinate timely reorders for uninterrupted production.
• Complete production documentation; accurately record downtime, scrap, and yield.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize machine uptime.
• Maintain a 6S-organized workspace; follow all site safety standards.
• Comply with environmental requirements; read MSDS and follow oil/chemical labeling and storage.
• Routinely propose ideas that advance continuous improvement.
• Execute tooling maintenance/modifications and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proven work ethic and appetite for learning.
• 10 years verifiable experience setting up and operating multi-die progressive headers.
• Capability to design/modify tooling for target product outcomes.
• Roll thread machine experience preferred.
• Skilled with shop equipment: surface grinder, lathe, hydraulic press, etc.
• Mechanical aptitude; basic cold header maintenance knowledge.
• Blueprint reading; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Accurate data entry into a data collection system.
• Inspection proficiency with comparators, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Competent in basic shop math.
