Job summary

Phoenix Stamping Group, LLC in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a 2nd Shift Automatic Stamping Press Operator to run automated lines, monitor equipment, and uphold quality and safety standards. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and 2 years’ stamping press experience, plus setups/changeovers and ability to read blueprints.

Shift is 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, full-time. Shift benefits include medical coverage after 30 days, a 10% shift differential, quarterly profit sharing, and opportunities for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years of experience required.
• Experience operating metal stamping presses.
• Experience with setups/changeovers.
• Experience with overhead crane loading coils.
• Ability to read schematics (blueprints) and engineering drawings.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, change, change over, and operate line according to production specifications.
• Inspect equipment before and monitor production; confirm proper operation by checking parameters.
• Set up part programs and parameters for stamping presses, feed lines, and dies.
• Perform quality checks to verify die setup prior to production run.
• Make and maintain shims for dies.
• Fix broken punches or die sections.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure with fixtures.
• Report production quantities and labor details accurately.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes.
• Maintain production documents and logs.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead crane).

• $20.00/hour + 10% shift differential!

• Reports to: Production Supervisor
• Job Purpose: Line Operators run automated lines, monitor equipment during production and ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate would have 2-5 years of experience.
• Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Set up, change, change over, and operate line according to production specifications
  • Inspect equipment before and monitor equipment during production. Confirm that it is working properly by checking process parameters and indicators.
  • Set up specific part programs and parameters for metal stamping presses, feed lines, and dies using the company’s standard practices and procedures
  • Perform quality checks according to the company’s procedures to verify die set up prior to production run
  • Make and maintain shims for blank and form dies
  • Fix broken punches or sections of dies in the press or die shop
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with fixtures or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Report production quantities and labor detail accurately and according to the company’s recording process
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify the cause of errors, problems and defects
  • Maintain production related documents and logs to ensure availability and accuracy
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead crane, etc to move raw material and parts as needed
