Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care (Step down) unit at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care, coordinating with the care team, and developing care plans to improve patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of RN experience, a BSN is preferred, and current RN licensure with BLS/ACLS capabilities. This on-site role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
• Current state licensure as an RN
• BLS/ACLS certification (ACLS required within 6 months)
• ACLS preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Serves as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement
• Administer medications in a safe manner per policies
