Job summary

Tufts Medicine’s Lowell General Progressive Care Unit seeks an RN II who independently provides direct nursing care to patients and families in line with established policies and practices. Minimum qualifications include Massachusetts RN Licensure, 12 months to less than 3 years RN experience, current BLS certification, and department-specific certifications as required.

BSN is preferred. This is a 36-hour full-time evening/night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) opportunity positioned at the Main Campus

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure is required.
• 12 months to <3 years RN experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Department-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in and maintains awareness of performance improvement initiates.
• Conscientiously evaluates and integrates evidence-based practice and research into clinical practice.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Uses professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care.
• Manages own patient assignment by delegating and effectively based on patient needs and skills of team members.
• Develops a comprehensive educational plan for the patient and family, utilizing appropriate resources, and documents according to department standards.
• Recognizes patient/family rights through support of their informed decisions and advanced directives.
• Continually evaluates and revises the care plan according to changes in the patient’s health status.
• Develops a comprehensive discharge plan utilizing appropriate resources and referrals including community resources.
