Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• 12 Months - Less than 3 Years RN experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Department specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in and maintains awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
• Conscientiously evaluates and integrates evidence-based practice and research into clinical practice.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates the patient's individualized plan of care.
• Uses professional nursing judgment to tailor the plan of care to patient needs.
• Manages own patient assignment by delegating based on patient needs and staff skills.
• Develops a comprehensive educational plan for patient and family and documents per standards.
• Supports patient/family rights and informed decisions including advance directives.
• Continuously evaluates and revises the care plan as patient health changes.
• Develops discharge plans utilizing resources and referrals including community services.
• Precepts new staff and assists with their transition to the unit.
• Guides staff development through education and mentorship.
• Participates in departmental committees as needed.
