Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care for patients across multiple SIH units. The role requires comprehensive patient assessment, compassionate support, and collaborative care planning with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include care planning, clinical documentation, and patient education to promote health and safety. You will float to other SIH units as needed, maintaining licensure and competency throughout employment.

Qualifications

• Current IL Registered Nurse license.
• CPR/BLS, ACLS within required timeframes.
• ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC or TNS required by 6/2026.
• ECRN within 24 months of hire by 6/2026.
• NRP within 6 months of hire.
• NRP & PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to support patients and families.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate an individual care plan with the care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimum health.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement and critical thinking to respond to changes in condition.
• Complete accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Contribute to policy/procedure development for patient safety and care quality.
• Supervise licensed practical nurses or unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Advocate for patients by collaborating with health professionals.
• Complete required education and licensure on time.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency.
