Job summary

Mercy Health Anderson Hospital in Ohio seeks a Clinical Nursing Student to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in the Progressive Care Unit. The role offers clinical exposure through job shadowing and hands-on patient care within hospital policies.

The student will assist with vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and documentation, while developing critical thinking and collaboration with the nursing team. Must be enrolled in a nursing program and have completed clinical coursework.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Currently enrolled in nursing program with at least one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Recent experience in acute or long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the nurse in applying the nursing process.
• Record vital signs and provide basic patient care (hygiene, mobility, nutrition).
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse, reporting changes.
• Provide high level customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Participate in hand-off reports and assist with daily living activities.
