Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Technician for the 6 East Progressive Care Unit. This role offers a day shift with rotation, 36 hours per week, and every other weekend and every other holiday.

You will provide essential patient care, assist with ADLs, support the RN, perform core CNA tasks (vital signs, glucose, I&O, specimen collections) and participate in unit activities while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in health sciences preferred or required where noted.
• Excellent communication with health-care team and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living and reports changes in patient status to the RN.
• Performs nursing assistant tasks such as blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections and Foley care.
• Maintains unit operations by assisting with call lights, meal delivery, transport, and adherence to safety policies.
