Job summary

UPMC East in Monroeville, PA seeks a Full-Time Patient Care Technician to join the 3 E Progressive Care Unit. Work 36 hours on a rotating schedule with shifts from 6:00 AM–6:30 PM and 6:00 PM–6:30 AM; some weekend and holiday coverage is required.

Title will be determined based on candidate's experience. The Patient Care Technician provides routine patient care and supports nursing staff, performing core duties such as ADLs, vital signs, and basic testing.

Qualifications

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Monitor vitals and communicate changes to the RN.
• Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care and assist with ADLs (bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating).
• Assist with procedures and treatments as directed by the RN/physician.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
• Document care accurately in the medical record and complete assigned tasks.
