Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is hiring a Patient Care Technician to join a dedicated Emergency Department team. The role includes assisting with patient procedures, activities of daily living, and communication with the RN to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities span vitals, blood glucose, I&O, phlebotomy and telemetry tasks as needed, with a focus on patient safety and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Prior patient care experience preferred.
• Ability to perform ADLs and basic nursing tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork with the RN.
• Competence with blood glucose, vital signs, I&O, and specimen collection.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Support RN with vitals, blood glucose, I&O, and specimen collection.
• Report changes in patient status and equipment malfunctions.
• Assist with transport, meal delivery, and call-light response.
• Maintain infection control and safety procedures.
