Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Clinical Supervisor for the Medical Progressive Care Unit night shift to coordinate patient care and staff activities. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nursing leadership, and the Staffing Office to ensure staffing efficiency and quality patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of hospital nursing experience, RN licensure, and a nursing degree; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing program.
• RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• 3-5 years of hospital nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Nursing certification may be required depending on unit.
• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient and staff assignments.
• Assists clinical staff with patient care and unit activities.
• Facilitates staff attendance at meetings.
• Interfaces with medical staff, patients' families and department heads.
• Participates in orientation, training and unit quality improvement.
• Supervises clinical activities and responds to changes in patient condition.
• Manages unit operations and collaborates on budget and resource use.
