Job summary

RTX in Tucson seeks a Program Supplier Quality Engineer (PSQE) to serve as the primary quality interface between Raytheon's organization and the external supply base. The PSQE communicates requirements and feedback, translating quality information to internal programs and engineering.

You will drive supplier quality improvements, participate in design and qualification reviews, and support RCCA investigations while traveling up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
• Previous experience interpreting schematic drawings and validating compliance (ex. hardware inspection techniques, documentation reviews).
• Previous experience conducting RCA and implementing corrective actions.
• Previous experience using quality tools (ex. Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including Six Sigma and Lean.
• Ensure flow down of product & process requirements to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and statement of works (SOW).
• Identify risk in the supply base and develop robust and executable supplier engagement plans to mitigate these risks.
• Communicate and interpret technical requirements as the liaison between the supply base and Engineering for drawing changes, and disposition of nonconformance to ensure supply base understands and complies with contractual requirements.
• Implement effective RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action), including FRACAS investigations and SCARs.
• Oversee and/or conduct on-site Source Surveillance, Source Inspection, First Article Verification, and Corrective Action reviews.
• Participate in design reviews, program reviews, process change reviews, supplier reviews, qualification test reviews, and Test Equipment verification and validation to mitigate escape risk.
• Communicate effectively to Raytheon leadership and customers through business reviews and status meetings.
• Drive quality activities and support as part of hardware management teams and participate in a cadence following up on quality initiatives and metrics.
• Ability to travel as required by program needs. Can anticipate domestic travel (Up to 50%) to support supplier assessments, audits, reviews.
