Sportanddev is seeking a Program Specialist for the Downstate region to support the state-level program functions and maintain program databases and records. The role focuses on coordinating volunteers, managing data, and assisting with coach education and outreach.
Ideal candidates have an associate or bachelor degree and experience in sports management or recreation, with a commitment to inclusivity and disability support. This is an on-site role with some travel and weekend duties as needed.

POSITION TITLE: Program Specialist, Downstate
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Downstate – NY, NY
REPORTS TO: Director of Program
COMPENSATION: $23.00- $28.00
In Person/Remote Status: In-Person required 4 days a week minimum.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited college/university in physical education, sports management, recreation, special education or related area is preferred. Demonstrated computer skill using data management software is preferred. Prior experience as an athlete, coach and/or Special Olympics volunteer is preferred.

In addition to the responsibilities identified above, may be requested or required to perform other duties and/or responsibilities, by management on a non regular basis.
Position requires working both standing and sitting. Must be able to lift and carry light loads (5-30 pounds for short distances, approximately one block).
Occasional travel and weekend/evening duties are required.
