Job summary

University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business, Sanger Leadership Center, seeks a Program Specialist to coordinate leadership development programs and signature initiatives in Ann Arbor.

You will lead program design, operations, and stakeholder collaboration, while integrating AI-enabled learning tools. You will work in a hybrid role with on-site work three days a week, and occasional travel; strong communication and budgeting skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 2+ years teaching or facilitating with large groups, preferably with young adults (18-29).
  • Significant experience using AI to create digital learning tools.
  • Must have program/project/event management experience including planning, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience planning and executing logistics related to academic programming, activities, and events.
  • Experience delivering presentations to audiences at various levels.
  • Must have experience planning and managing within a budget.
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint plus other databases, email and calendar-keeping software and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of leadership development programs, overseeing strategy, design, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage day-to-day program operations including scheduling, logistics, communications, participant engagement, materials, and budget oversight.
  • Coordinate and support faculty, staff, students, facilitators, interns, and temporary staff involved in program delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the school, university, and external partners to support program delivery.
  • Develop and implement innovative, evidence-based learning experiences using action-based learning, digital tech, AI and emerging tools.
  • Partner with leadership to enhance curriculum, learning technology, and participant experience across offerings.
  • Lead data management and assessment efforts ensuring data accuracy and reporting usability.
  • Analyze participant engagement and other program data to inform decisions and drive improvement.

Located at the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business, the Sanger Leadership Center serves as an important bridge between student learners and thought leaders in both research and practice. The Center runs 120+ leadership development sessions and has over 14,500 student interactions annually. Its mission is to accelerate leader development through bold ideas, transformative experiences, and inclusive communities.

The Sanger Leadership Center Program Specialist provides functional coordination over work assignments for a specific content area of expertise. Reporting to the Director of Programming, you will coordinate one or more programs within the unit's scope of responsibility and coordinate all aspects of a project or program. This will include working as project lead on several of Sanger's signature initiatives, which include Collaboration Lab, Crisis Challenge, Story Lab, Legacy Lab, Michigan Ross Leader Endorsement, and the Ross Leaders Academy.

This hybrid position is based in Ann Arbor, MI, with an expectation of three days per week on-site. The role may require occasional domestic travel and work outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain that authorization throughout employment.

Responsibilities*

  • Partner with program and Center leadership to enhance curriculum, learning technology, and the overall participant experience across leadership development offerings.
  • Lead data management and assessment efforts, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usability of program data and reporting systems.
  • Analyze participant engagement, demographics, evaluations, and other program data to inform decision-making and drive continuous program improvement.
Required Qualifications*
  • A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related experience in education, training, leadership development, or organizational learning; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience are required.

Additional Information

Salary Information:

The salary offer range for this position is $53,500 to $66,100. Salary offers are determined based on several factors, including a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, along with internal equity considerations. It is not common for new hires to be placed at the top of the range.

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the University Staff United (USU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
