Job summary

Luster is seeking Safety Managers to support large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs across highways, bridges, transit, aviation, and water projects. This role involves enforcing safety requirements, verifying field controls, and maintaining defensible records across multiple contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of construction safety on large, complex heavy-civil projects.
• Experience developing or reviewing site-specific safety plans and safety analyses.
• Experience conducting field safety audits and enforcing safety requirements.
• Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Experience leading safety staff on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead program-level safety governance across multiple contracts and develop enterprise safety procedures.
• Review site-specific safety plans and hazard analyses for conformance with requirements.
• Audit contractor safety performance in the field and verify controls in place.
• Drive corrective actions to closure and prevent repeat findings.
• Oversee incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are effective.
• Coordinate safety planning across overlapping contractor operations and preconstruction meetings.
