Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a PAR Program Coordinator to partner with division physicians and hospital leadership.

The role focuses on developing organized processes, problem solving, and coordinating events to improve patient care and service quality. The position requires 3+ years of general office or secretarial experience with supervisory exposure, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of general office or secretarial experience including one year of mid-level management support.
  • Experience with major project management and planning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with division physicians, division leadership and hospital personnel to develop an organized process for the PAR Program.
  • Acts as the primary resource for problem solving for faculty physicians and division leadership for the PAR Program.
  • Identifies goals and objectives for performance improvements that are needed in order to provide the best patient care and optimum customer service.
  • Maintains knowledge of benefit eligibility, provisions and precertification procedures as required by payers.
  • Works with administrative staff and division leadership in the development, coordination and promotion of the PAR Program events and meetings.
  • In conjunction with the division leadership, coordinates faculty physician activities.
  • Completes and processes necessary forms and requisitions.
  • Monitors overall progress of the program.
  • Maintains the scheduling and clinical database; identifies and corrects errors.
  • Recognizes and reports potential problems in processes, workflow, system design, and data integrity.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
  • Provides cross coverage amongst the division in overall surgery program throughput.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members.
