Job summary

The Seattle Foundation in Seattle, WA seeks a Program Officer to advance community impact by stewarding programs, grants, and partnerships across issue areas. Reporting to the Director, Programs, you will manage a multi-million-dollar portfolio and collaborate with community leaders to translate grassroots knowledge into funded action.

Ideal candidates bring five or more years of experience in community work, strong storytelling, and a deep commitment to racial equity and civic participation.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant experience in community-based work, program management, organizing, advocacy, communications, civic engagement, public service, or a related field.
• Demonstrated connection to communities in Greater Seattle or Washington state, with trusted relationships and a grounded understanding of local assets, histories, challenges, and aspirations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft accessible messages.

Responsibilities

• Steward a multi-million-dollar portfolio of community programs and investments, managing strategy alignment, budgets, timelines, partner relationships, and outcomes.
• Build and sustain authentic relationships with community organizations and leaders to shape Foundation work.
• Develop and sustain narrative storytelling strategies that elevate community voice and inform program strategy.
• Represent Seattle Foundation at community gatherings and coalitions, building trust over time.
• Maintain accurate partnership information in Foundation databases and coordinate program contracts and learning.
