Job summary

Lincoln Hills Development Corp is seeking a full-time Program Nurse to support Head Start health, dental, and mental health services for children aged birth to 5. The role involves coordinating clinics, training staff, and ensuring compliance with Indiana licensing standards.

The nurse will monitor records, perform health-related trainings for staff and families, and advance immunization processes. Requirements include LPN/RN license in Indiana or a related health degree with CNA; pediatric

Qualifications

  • Experience with young children birth to 5 preferred.
  • Minimum of one year related work experience preferred.
  • Pediatric CPR/First Aid Instructor certification obtainable within 12 months.
  • LPN or RN license in Indiana or Bachelor’s Degree in a related Health field with CNA required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, produce, coordinate and monitor health, dental and mental health programs to meet Head Start standards.
  • Train staff to perform health, dental health and mental health duties.
  • Organize clinics with providers for immunizations, dental exams and well-child visits.
  • Monitor and ensure all records are up to date and compliant with Indiana licensing regulations.
  • Provide health-related support and training to staff and families.

Job description

About this position

Head Start has an opening for a non-exempt full-time Program Nurse working 35 hours per week. Responsible for planning, producing, coordinating, and monitoring the functions necessary to ensure a comprehensive health, dental, and mental health program that is in compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations. This includes training staff to perform duties related to Health, Dental Health, and Mental Health in the Head Start Birth-5 Forms and Procedure Manual, Head Start Program Performance Standards and Indiana Daycare Licensing Requirements. Follow Indiana Daycare Center licensing requirements and ensure all children have a physical/immunizations and results finding on file. Monitor, update, and ensure all records are up to date. Organize clinics with providers to obtain dentals, immunizations, and well child exams including lead and hemoglobulin results. Conduct health-related support and training for staff and families with on-going health, mental health, and dental care activities.

Salary Information

$20.3 - $23.29Hourly Wage

Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a current Indiana license or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related Health field such as Public Health, Maternal and Child health, or Health Education with a CNA required. Experience with young children aged birth to 5 is preferred. Minimum of one (1) year related work experience preferred. At LHDC’s expense, this position will require you to become a certified Pediatric CPR/First Aid Instructor, Lactation Specialist, Car Seat Technician, and Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Associate Certificate within twelve (12) months of hire.

Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical and complete an annual T.B. test.
